Good, Better, Best
Unlike the wear-today/replace tomorrow lifespan of a fast fashion garment, The Good Tee strives to enhance the lifespan of its products by emphasizing quality in all things - from fabric to thread and trims. We responsibly manufacture to ensure all elements come together to create something “good”.
DESIGNED WITH PURPOSE
OUR APPROACH:
The Good Tee evaluates sustainability by looking at the different phases of the product's life cycle and taking action in those stages where it most effectively reduces the environmental and social impact - from the raw material, through every aspect of garment manufacture, to transportation and delivery, to how it’s worn and how it’s disposed of. By addressing these concerns we create a sustainable, 100% transparent supply chain that supports fair trade.
Good Ingredients
Less Polluting
Organic cotton doesn’t damage the soil and has less impact on air quality. To be certified organic, cotton needs to be produced and certified to organic agricultural standards. Organic cotton farming does not allow the use of toxic chemicals or GMOs. (genetically modified organisms)
Preserves Water
Organic Cotton uses 71% less water and 62% less energy compared to conventional cotton. Organic cotton is also 80% rain-fed, which reduces pressure on local water sources. By 2025, two-thirds of the world’s population may face water shortages due to climate change.
Safer For Farmers
Growing organic cotton means farmers and their families are not exposed to toxic chemicals in the field or through their food and water supply.
Less Toxic Dyes
The absence of chemicals means that any runoff water is cleaner and safer. We avoid the use of all hazardous chemicals and use only AZO-free and low-impact dyes. The dye companies we partner with are connected to a water effluent treatment plant that recycles and reuses water.
Good Packaging
Unlike most brands that ship each garment in a plastic bag, we use biodegradable bags and use recycled boxes for transportation purposes.
Good Trims
We consider the bio-degradability and sustainability of our trims. For buttons, instead of plastic, we looked to nature and use coconut and seashell buttons. We also use YKK NATULON® zippers. Made from post-consumer chemically recycled polyester, they are perpetually recyclable.
It’s All Good
