Who Made My Clothes?
Immerse students in the real-world impacts of fashion, revealing where their clothes come from and how they are made. Through interactive activities, students explore the supply chain, solve mysteries, and make creative decisions that highlight the implications of their fashion choices.
This engaging series fosters creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking while emphasizing fair trade. With fun challenges, students discover the people behind their clothing and the environmental and ethical issues tied to the industry. Get ready for a thrilling adventure in fashion! This workshop series invites students to uncover the secrets and stories behind their clothing and the makers who bring them to life.
- Role-Playing: "Walk in Their Shoes" – In teams, receive $15 to "spend" on producing a T-shirt. Decide how to allocate funds across the supply chain—balancing fair wages, environmental costs, and profits—while learning about ethical decision-making and the true costs of fashion.
- T-Shirt Adventure Relay – In this fun relay race, students journey through the T-shirt supply chain, from cotton fields to store shelves. Each station represents a different step, where students complete engaging activities that highlight ethical choices along the way.
- Fashion Detective Challenge – Become a fashion detective and uncover the stories behind your favorite clothes! In this interactive activity, students will investigate the labels of their garments to learn about their origins, production methods, and ethical practices.
- Fair Trade Marketplace: Build Your Own Ethical Brand- explore the concept of fair trade and its impact on communities around the world. They will work in teams to create their own ethical brand, from sourcing materials to marketing their products. The workshop culminates in a mini marketplace where they can showcase and pitch their brands to peers.
Life Cycle of a T-Shirt
Dive into the captivating journey of a T-shirt with the From Cotton to Closet Workshop Series! Students will explore the entire lifecycle of a T-shirt, from cotton fields to the final product in their closets. Through hands-on activities and interactive challenges, they'll engage with each stage of production, learning about the processes and environmental impacts involved. This dynamic series sparks creativity and critical thinking while raising awareness about sustainability in fashion. Through fun, movement-based activities, students will uncover the stories behind their clothing and learn the importance of making eco-conscious choices.
- Build Your Fashion Brand – In this exciting, hands-on activity, students become eco-entrepreneurs as they create their own sustainable fashion brand. From sourcing ethical materials to designing products and logos, each step of the process challenges students to make eco-conscious choices. They’ll engage in fun, collaborative activities that teach the importance of sustainability, fair trade, and ethical business practices while tapping into their creativity.
- Sustainability Vision Boards – Get creative and design your vision for a more ethical and sustainable fashion industry. Students will focus on goal-setting, sustainability, and personal values. Eg Plastic Free Challenge or From Waste To Wonder or Designing Your Wardrobe or Future of Fashion

Adila Cokar’s journey as an educator began with her passion for sustainable fashion. With over a decade of experience, she has empowered entrepreneurs through her book Source My Garment, which is now part of academic programs teaching responsible manufacturing.
Adila has coached countless students on how to create ethical, sustainable businesses. She is the driving force behind The Good Tee and Source My Garment, both B-Corp certified and widely acclaimed in the media.
